SIU Credit Union is a strong and growing credit union doing business in Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Perry, Marion, Randolph, Saline, Massac, Union and Williamson counties in Illinois. We currently have a full time opening for a Head Teller. If you have the ability to provide a high level of service to our internal and external members, we would like to hear from you.
The primary purpose of this position is to manage, lead and coach employees so the responsible area may assist SIU Credit Union in the achievement of its mission of building lifelong relationships by delivering personalized financial solutions. This will be achieved by ensuring the staff's consistent delivery of outstanding service to both internal and external members. In addition, is responsible for efficient operation of Teller area in specified branch. Works with Branch Manager to coordinate scheduling, training, duties and assists with performance evaluations on branch tellers. Accountable for branch cash including teller, vault, and ATM cash and cash machines. Performs all regular teller duties.
Essential Job Functions:
Meet all of the department's sales and service goals as established.
Coordinates Teller operations. Insures that all job duties and responsibilities are carried out appropriately and handles employee related performance issues as needed.
Responsible for scheduling, training and evaluating staff.
Assists Tellers with all problems or questions related to the job, department or Credit Union.
Assists members with problems or questions. Resolves disputes.
Audits teller drawers regularly.
Balances accounts of miscellaneous sales items (money orders, Visa gift and travel cards) and remits reports and payments to vendors.
Responsible for all cash supplies. Orders, receives and verifies cash orders in accordance with policy. Disburses cash to Tellers and maintains records.
Supervises wire transfer process.
Performs all teller functions on a daily basis.
Maintains all necessary records in accordance with regulations.
Maintains a high level of security and insures that all Tellers follow security procedures.
Trains Tellers in products, policies and procedures as needed.
Responsible for compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the Teller area.
Remains current on industry standards and trends associated with the job.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Participates in employee relations type activities and employee retention programs
On a regular and continuous basis, exercise administrative judgement and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality service within the functional area.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and effectively communicate with all staff members via face to face, email and written methods.
Must have high school diploma and be bondable. Prefer three years of teller/senior teller experience and preferably one year of Head Teller or Assistant Head Teller experience.
