SIU Credit Union is a strong and growing credit union doing business in Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Perry, Marion, Randolph, Saline, Massac, Union and Williamson counties in Illinois. We currently have a full time opening for a Mortgage Loan Servicer. If you have the ability to provide a high level of service to our internal and external members, we would like to hear from you.
You will process mortgage loan and home equity loan applications and assist in preparation of documentation for loan closing while providing assistance to the mortgage loan manager. You will also be responsible for a wide variety of customer service and clerical duties related to mortgage loan activities.
Processing of mortgage loan applications which includes ordering appraisals, flood certificates, home equities, credit reports, title work, VOEs and VODs. Completing disclosures to meet RESPA guidelines.
Assisting with preparation of loan closing documents which includes Truth-in-Lending disclosures, HUD-1 settlement statements, notes, mortgage and other pertinent documents. Obtaining releases and pertinent documentation to prepare final mortgage loan files, following up on releases and reviewing for compliance.
Assisting in posting closing entries for mortgage loans, packaging and selling loans for secondary market funding and completing files on in-house and secondary market loans.
Performing escrow analysis, maintenance, and member service in regards to notifications and problem resolution.
This position serves as backup for balancing mortgage loan general ledgers/ FICS sweep in addition to providing back up assistance to the mortgage loan processor.
Other duties as needed; including but not limited to, maintaining mortgage loan files, printing and mailing quarterly mortgage statements, providing rates and program information to real estate agencies, documenting homeowners' insurance coverage for each first holder with SIU Credit Union as lien holder, and remaining informed and up to date on all security procedures and applicable regulations while insuring compliance.
*High School Diploma and Bondability required.
*Experience with loan documents and familiarity with general ledgers preferred.
*Excellent math skills and good analytical skills.
*Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with members, staff and management.
*Typing 35 WPM and keyboard skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows based programs.
